TCF Canada

Prepare effectively for the Test de connaissance du français (TCF) pour le Canada, the official French language proficiency test recognized by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residency and citizenship applications.

This comprehensive practice exam course provides authentic, timed simulations of all four mandatory sections to help you achieve the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) / Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) scores required for your application.

Why Prepare with This Course?

  • 100% Format Match: Our practice tests perfectly replicate the unique structure of the TCF Canada, including the multiple-choice format for the comprehension sections and the specific tasks for the expression sections.
  • CLB/NCLC Alignment: Results are clearly mapped to the NCLC levels, allowing you to instantly determine if you meet the minimum requirement (typically NCLC 7 / CEFR B2 for Express Entry economic streams).
  • Time Management Mastery: All sections are strictly timed to build the focus and speed necessary to complete the high volume of questions and tasks within the official constraints.

Course Structure: The 4 Mandatory Sections

The TCF Canada test is designed to measure your French proficiency across all four language skills. Our course covers the full format:

Focus on Key Differences

The TCF Canada has a unique structure, and our practice is tailored to it:

  • Compréhension (Listening & Reading): Both sections consist of 39 strictly multiple-choice questions. In the Listening section, you must answer each question in sequence, as you cannot return to previous questions.
  • Expression Écrite (Writing): You will practice three distinct, time-sensitive tasks with varying word count requirements: a short message (60-120 words), a report/story (120-150 words), and an opinion/comparative text (120-180 words).
  • Expression Orale (Speaking): The 12-minute oral test is structured into three progressive tasks: a structured interview, an interaction exercise (with prep time), and expressing an opinion.

Results and Goal Setting

Your final scores in this practice course are given on the TCF’s points and band scale (e.g., 458 points = NCLC 7) and directly translated to the Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) to ensure you hit the minimum requirements for the Canadian immigration program you are targeting.
